We realize that it is almost the end of January 2018, but we have been busy with all kinds of projects around here so we are just now getting around to finishing our 2017 Year in Review. Last year was a mixture of major successes, challenges and change, and new endeavors. We hope you enjoy this look back, and more importantly, we hope you join us for our journey this year!

It would be impossible to recap every wedding, event, conference, Gala, and workshop that we played a role in last year, so we will just hit a few of the highlights along the way. Our January was filled with workshops, networking events, and consultations for new weddings. We also had the pleasure of doing the flowers for Shelby.
In February, we had the pleasure of creating a Princess Tea Party for our sweet Isabella. She invited all of her friends and they were treated to professional hair and makeup from Lynsey of The Hair and Makeup Collective. Cakes by Kim made the most adorable tea pot cake(pink and white, of course), and all of the images were captured by Mallory Katherine Images.
The month of February continued with a bang as we participated in the first ever Believe! Bridal Show. This one of a kind layout allowed us to stretch our creative minds as we unveiled the 10′ diameter flower circle.
We loved getting to work with Christopher Confero, Alabama Weddings Magazine, On-Site Productions, ERU, Decor to Adore, Shannel Aiken Weddings, and the staff at The Grand Bohemian Hotel.
Thanks to Pipervine Photography for this beautiful image.
We finished up the month with two wonderful non-profit Galas with a tea party for The Junior League of Birmingham and the Night at the Oscars party hosted by Mitchell’s Place at The Club.
March moved us into “busy season” with a flurry. We had three weddings, CeCe spoke and taught design in New Orleans and Charleston, and we hosted an open house at our Create Studio.
April brought more teaching opportunities as CeCe hosted two designers at our studio for 2 Day Intensive workshops. Each 2 Day is customized to fit the needs and the skill level of the attendee. If you would like more information, click here.
We had the honor of doing flowers for two weddings including Ashley’s at The Barn at Shady Lane. It was such a fun day working with Magnolia Vine Events, On-Site Productions, Decor to Adore, and AL Weddings.
We also had the pleasure of hosting a “house concert” for one of our favorite musicians, Callaghan. We enjoyed a night under the stars with furniture provided by CeCe Decor and lighting and A/V provided by On-site Productions.
How gorgeous is this shot from Jennifer Woodbery photography? She absolutely killed it with all the images from this glorious day.
As April came to a close, we weren’t sure that the year could get any better, but then the calendar turned to the month of May which brought us 9 weddings, 3 rehearsal dinners, 2 non-profit fundraisers, and an appearance on the Craft Box Girls Facebook Live video that has since developed into a recurring monthly spot! We were truly blessed, and tired! Images below are from the talented Arden Photography at Windwood Weddings and J’adore Photographie at Iron City. Eric and Jamie Photography in Downtown Birmingham.
We strolled into June with a destination wedding in Kentucky, The Chris Hammond Youth Foundation Celebrity Auction and Gala, and closed out the month with a wedding back in Birmingham.
We kicked July off with a stunning summer wedding. We love getting to bring bride’s dreams to life, and we live for the day when the images hit our inbox.
We celebrated the 4th of July with family and friends at The Club in Birmingham and took a much needed weekend off(Doesn’t happen often around here).
After a few days of relaxing, we jumped right back into design plans for fall weddings, ordered flowers for an epic baby shower, two more weddings, and The Kulture Ball. We are so honored to get to work with amazing people each week to bring life to visions. Thanks to everyone that helps make us look good!
August was filled with new opportunities including being the opening night speaker and design instructors at The Tennessee State Florists’ Association in Nashville. It was such an honor to be a part of such a wonderful event. Greg, the behind the scenes portion of our team, again traveled out of state to participate in the Susan G. Komen 60 mile walk for Cancer research. He raised over $2500 to participate and the Team Blondie organization brought in over $20,000 for the cause. We participated in the Engaged Wedding Collective with an epic styled shoot at The Harbert Center followed by a unique bridal show experience at Haven. We also had the pleasure of doing wedding flowers for the sister of a former bride of ours. We absolutely adore the Allen family, and we were blessed that they asked us to be a part of another special day.
We LOVE fall!! So, when the calendar turns to September we get excited. Our 2017 September was filled with a variety of activities. We had 4 weddings, rehearsal dinners, a sweet 16 party, 2 Alabama Weddings Magazine editorial shoots, and the Engaged Collective Bridal Expo. We work well in controlled chaos, so September had us feeling right at home!
The crazy schedule of fall did not slow down as the year moved into October. CeCe and Greg headed to Las Vegas to start the month with CeCe speaking on the importance of using live video in your business at Wedding MBA. The following weekend was filled with vibrant colors as we did a beautiful wedding at Highlands Chapel followed by a reception at Mathews Manor. Some of our favorite vendor friends joined us for this gorgeous day! Once we were done with that wedding, we loaded the SUV for a trip to New Orleans to speak to the attendees at the Inspire Design Workshop. It was a fun filled trip complete with flower design, horse drawn carriage rides, and a lot of learning/laughing. We returned to Birmingham just in time for two more weddings. We are so blessed to have an amazing staff that handled much of the heavy lifting this week! Once our two weddings were complete, we slept at home for one night and then headed to Columbus Ohio for The Empowered Planners Conference. What a treat it was to have CeCe on the same speaking panel as Jessica Rasdale, Kat Schmoyer, Tyler McCall, Milton Lawrence, and more!! After the whirlwind of September and October, we were happy to get a little break in November. We booked one wedding(on purpose), so that we could devote our attention to Christmas Decorating. WE love decorating people’s homes, mailboxes, businesses, and parties. We are blessed that so many people turn to us during this special time of the year.
We finished out the year in December by putting the finishing touches on some Christmas decor, but we also took time for family. Our daughter is now old enough to realize how much we work, so we made a conscious decision to take less events and focus on family. We were blessed to have our three boys in with us for Christmas as well, so the year ended on a high note.
We hope you enjoyed this long post. If you stayed with us all the way to the end, then thank you!! We look forward to sharing more beauty with you this year!
